Carlye
In response to the Industrial Revolution of Victorian England and the oil boom of North Dakota I have taken on a more positive outlook on the change and lean more towards Carlye's "glass half full" attitude. With change there will always bee negative consequences, but that is the price society pays for evolving and moving towards the future with something new and better. The crime rates of North Dakota have increased, but our small towns are flourishing. The labor and slums of the industrial revolution in England were monstrous, but they made England the prosperous country it is today. When there is good, there will always be bad. It is important to embrace change and fight against the neagtivity but to also strive and encourage the positivity.
